Incorporating something blue into your bridal look is an age old custom which traditionally symbolises love, purity, and fidelity (that's a pretty desirable hat trick on your wedding day!). One of the most stylish and definitely more modern ways to embrace this tradition is by wearing blue wedding shoes. From soft pastel hues to bold cobalt shades, blue wedding shoes can add a stunning pop of colour to your bridal look. They can also tie in with your wedding theme, match your bridesmaid dresses... and are really easy to wear again long after you say your vows!

In this blog, I'm going to introduce you to the two beautiful blue shoes in the current collection- Isadora and Minnie- and hopefully help you find your perfect something blue.

Isadora

I designed Isadora in 2019, the year I got married. I loved the prototype so much I asked my factory if they'd be able to rush through a pair in my size before they were even in production, so that I could wear them for the wedding. Very kindly they agreed, so I was officially the first person to wear them as my something blue!

It may look like a simple design, but it took a long time to get the proportions of the art deco design right, and then more time for the pattern cutter at the factory to bring it to life. It was worth persevering though as Isadora has been a favourite style ever since. It's easy to understand why- speaking from experience the low heel is just ridiculously comfortable, like you're not wearing a heel at all, and the cut of the shoe just holds you perfectly. I say I speak from experience- I wore them from about midday until gone 4am, before eventually taking them off when I finally went to bed!

Minnie

Minnie is new this year and I am in love with both the blue suede and gold leather versions. It's just such an easy shoe, but looks so cool/ elegant/ chic- insert your own complimentary adjective here- with very little effort. You can wear Minnie with a wedding dress, with a summer skirt, with jeans- even with shorts, they just work. the fact that they're insanely comfortable also helps- the knotted straps are made in tubular suede/ leather which has enough structure to hold its shape, but is super soft to wear. The wearable mid-block heel is great too- smart enough for an occasion but just as easy to wear more casually too.

Choosing blue wedding shoes as your "something blue" is a beautiful way to combine tradition with modern style. Shoes like Isadora and Minnie offer the perfect pop of blue, each with its own unique feel and style. Isadora combines classic sophistication with an art deco twist, while Minnie brings a cool modern vibe. Tradition has never looked so stylish.

Love,

Rachel xx
