There is something deeply satisfying about giving new life to items of clothing you've had in your wardrobe for years. Long before sustainability and slow fashion were officially a thing, I've always loved how you can update your favourite pieces with the simple addition of a new pair of shoes, a colourful clutch or a fabulous pair of earrings. Whereas the latter two can often be picked up relatively inexpensively, a new pair of shoes is definitely an investment, so you want to be sure you can pair them with multiple different looks already in your wardrobe, to ensure you get the best value and cost per wear.

Whenever I'm designing my shoes I like to make sure that each style has on trend elements but I combine these with a more classic style because I want people to be able to wear them for years to come. I don't want them to look old fashioned, but I do want them to be as relevant in five, ten years time as they are now- what is it Coco Chanel famously said, "fashion fades, only style remains the same"? That's definitely an ethos I echo and the proof is in the pudding when I get emails from customers who wore RS for their wedding and have worn them again every year since for their anniversary, not to mention plenty of events in between!

So I thought it would be fun to take a selection of the current shoes and style them up in multiple ways. And as it's (meant to be!) summer, what better place to start than with the stunning Minnie knot sandals in pretty pale blue suede? I love this style, whether in the gold or the blue and one of the main reasons is because it's just such a versatile shoe which goes with pretty much anything. The block heel gives you a bit of a lift but is low enough to wear all day and the soft tubular straps are beyond comfy, trust me!

I'll be styling up more of the current collection in forthcoming blogs, but for now let's make a start with Minnie blue...

 1. To the beach

Pop on a pair of Minnie blue with a tailored pair of shorts and a simple tee for an elevated beach wear look. The low heel makes this outfit smart enough to take you from beach to bar, especially if you fancy adding in a pair of earrings for good measure.

2. Summer drinks

Add a pretty pop of colour to a simple summer shift dress- the pale blue of Minnie is super versatile and goes with so many different colours. Wear with an oversized clutch for an effortless summer evening look, Pimms anyone?

3. Effortless day tripping

Going on a city break or for a day out with friends? Elevate a simple pair of wide leg cropped trousers and simple white tee with a pair of Minnie and a patterned tote- both a practical as they are pretty!

4. Elegant evenings

I love this look, possibly because it just screams summer holiday (and mine is coming up)! Team a patterned palazzo pant with a classic white shirt over a simple vest top, chuck on a pair of Minnie blue and an oversized straw tote and you'll be the most stylish guest in the restaurant.

5. Cocktail chic

Last but not least is a look which is perfect for a night out, but can just as easily be worn for an elevated day time vibe (either way, make sure cocktails are involved). Team your favourite jeans with a satin shirt, dressy clutch and a pair of Minnie blue for understated glamour with minimal effort!
