It’s no secret that as a designer I’m rather fond of a pastel shoe- in fact I’ve been creating them since I designed my Mimi t-bar as part of the very first collection back in 2008, which I ran in mint green satin and a rather lovely pale lilac colour, both with gold leather trim. So imagine my delight as once again, the pastel trend is stepping back into the limelight. You only have to look at today’s photos from Royal Ascot Ladies’ Day to see that pastel accessories are still a very firm favourite for a day at the races. I think it’s because pastel colours go with most outfits, but also that they add a pop of colour without being too much. Whether you’re attending a special occasion like Ladies’ Day or a summer garden party, going to a wedding or just want to add a bit of interest to your every day look, pastel shoes are the perfect choice.

From dusky blue to blush pink and of course our signature mint green, not only are pastel shoes a key trend this season, they’re also timeless and super versatile whatever the occasion. They’re the shoes you’ll keep for years and bring out time and time again (I speak from experience!). With a pair of pastel heels you can instantly brighten up a trusty old outfit or add the finishing touch to a brand new one. Although they’re all from the pastel family, each colour brings something slightly different…

Choose something blue for the ultimate in elegance

The epitome of modern elegance, pastel blue is a colour which exudes calm and grace. It’s versatile enough to wear for both casual and formal occasions and of course can serve as your ‘something blue’ if you’re getting married. I was actually the first person to wear our Isadora dusky blue heels when I got married in 2019, just before they were launched as part of the collection! I love the stunning art deco design and the way the gold contrasts so well with the blue. I can attest to their incredible comfort with total authority- I wore them until gone 4am..

Be a timeless romantic in blush pink

Pink seems to be having something of a moment in recent seasons and I’m totally here for it. We’re all embracing the girly vibes and seeing pinks of all kinds on catwalks and high streets alike. A truly timeless shade, blush pink adds a touch of classic romance and prettiness to any outfit. Being so close to a neutral shade, pastel pink is another super versatile shade and can be worn with pretty much anything from wedding guest outfit to a pair of jeans for a casual weekend brunch. Try a pair of Rosie twenties style t-bars with a floral midi dress for a chic and effortless daytime look.

Go for modern vintage in mint green

Green is actually my favourite colour (it’s a closely run contest between mint green and forest green, depending on the day), and subsequently mint green is the brand’s signature colour. It’s a clean, fresh colour which manages to be both modern and bring a touch of vintage all at the same time. Mint green (or any pastel tbh) is perfect when you want to make a subtle colour statement, but without your shoes overpowering the rest of your outfit. They’re perfect for a summer day out or a spring event, and work particularly well combined with a touch of gold either in the shoe’s detail or your chosen accessories. A firm favourite of the collection, our Lauren block heels are so effortless to wear and elevate any outfit whether daytime or evening.
